Russian drug "Fitoverm": instructions for use for plant protection

Content

Fitoverm is a trademark of Russian preparations of biological origin - analogues in terms of the active substance, but with different concentrations. These are insecticides against a wide range of insects. Acaricidal properties, which help to get rid of herbivorous mites, and nematicidal properties against rootworm nematodes, have also proved to be useful.

General information about the preparations of the Fitoverm series

Country and company producing the drugFitoverm is a development of the Pharmbiomedservice company, established in 1992 for the production of drugs based on avermectins - natural substances produced by soil microorganisms. In 1993, a patent application was filed for Fitoverm, an alternative to Vertimek from the Swiss concern Syngenta AG with similar protective properties, but high toxicity for humans, and even more for bees (the agent is not applicable in private households).
Permission to useFitoverm is a series of drugs of the same name with separate certificates of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia on state registration:
· With a content of 50 g of active ingredient in a liter of concentrated emulsion (5% EC); admission to use until 06/22/2024;
· 1% EC - until 12/17/2023;
0.2% EC - until December 17, 2023;
· The same - with the index "M" in the name and the addition of an adjuvant substance;
· In the form of a powder with 0.8% active ingredient content; admission also until 12/17/2023.
The last two are not allowed for use in private households.
The state registration of the drugs was obtained by representatives of the group of companies of the patent holder: for the first one - “Pharmbiomedservice”, for the rest - NBC “Pharmbiomed”. Sales - through dealers. Their data is available on the website "SPC PHARMBIOMED", although not all support the direction in reality.
In addition, the Firm Green Apteka Sadovoda (ZAS) has registered the insecticide Fitoverm Forte - 1% EC with a tolerance up to 12.01.2027.
Price category and packingThe two firms take different approaches:
1. "Farmbiomed" prepares products for dealers in large containers: 0.05; 0.1; 1; 5 l. There is even 10 liters for 0.2% EC. For the most concentrated 5% EC, the maximum is 1 liter.
2. Another situation is in the ZAS with a focus on private households. For 0.2% EC, here are packs with a dosage of 4 and 2 ml, as well as on a single substrate - a pair of 2 ml ampoules, which can be used separately. Almost the same for the Forte variant with 1% EC. But in addition, a 0.5 liter bottle is offered.
Prices are determined by a combination of factors:

· The drug in ampoules - 2.5 times more expensive, if you count the volume. But for use in a personal household it is inexpensive - about 40 rubles. for 4 ml of 1% EC, which can be diluted up to 20 liters.
· For packages from "Farmbiomed" the price is also not directly dependent on the volume. For example, on the website of the "Premier-Agro" dealer, the price per liter of EC of the same concentration in packages for 1 and 5 liters differs by a quarter.
· Prices depend on sellers. For example, from two dealers - "Premier-Agro" and "Biochemical Technologies" - the price for the same package of 0.2% EC differs by 35%.
· "Fitoverm M" hardly differs in price from the "usual" analogue.
Active substanceSince avermectins are naturally occurring, they are usually a mixture. The active substance "Fitoverma No.", aversectin C, is also 4 main (about 90%), as well as 4 additional components of a similar structure. Due to this, Russian scientists managed to reduce the toxicity of the insecticide by replacing the producer's culture with obtaining substances in a different composition.
Aversectin C is almost insoluble in water, therefore it is used in the form of a powder or EC.
AppointmentIt is a contact-intestinal pesticide that affects the nervous system with the subsequent paralysis of many herbivorous insects, ticks and nematodes.
Hazard ClassCategory - low-hazard substances, class 3.
What plants is it used onThe drug is not absorbed by plants, does not exhibit phytotoxicity, therefore it is used to protect against pests of garden and garden plants, as well as indoor plants, including flowers such as orchids or violets. Approved for use in this capacity.
Speed and duration of action6–16 hours after spraying, the pests stop damaging the plants (in greenhouses - faster), and after 2–7 days they die. Protection - up to 20 days.
ResistanceResistance is unlikely, especially with alternating treatments.
Protection period after processingFor the safety of work, it is enough to wait 1 day.
Waiting periodThe waiting period from processing to harvest is short - only 1-3 days on different crops.
Additional effectsAdditional effects are not provided.
CombiningFitoverm is incompatible, as a rule, with other plant protection products in the form of a working liquid. However, it is possible to use it together with dry forms - for example, with "Nissoran" when treating against ticks, including red or spider mites. It is recommended to combine it with hormonal drugs that interrupt the development cycle of pests, for example, with "Apploud" when treated against whitefly or mealybug. Effectiveness is enhanced by the presence of surfactants to help uniform wetting of the sheet. This is what the adjuvant provides in Fitoverm M.

EC shelf life - 2 years at a temperature from -20 to +30 aboutC. But complete protection from light is necessary.

Instructions for use as insecticide and acaricide

For high processing efficiency, the following rules should be followed:

  • The rates of preparation and consumption of working fluid depend on the treated culture and preparation. Therefore, before you start using it, you need to read the instructions for use.

Brief information on the application of 0.2% CE:

Processed cropA drugWaterInterval / processing period
Indoor flowers2 ml0,5 lA week later
Fruit and berry, ornamental deciduous trees and shrubs1 ml1 l2 times per season
Vegetables (against small pests)2 ml1 l3-7 days
Vegetables (against whites, caterpillars)0.5 ml1 l3-7 days
Seedling0.4 ml1 lBefore rooting
  • In the light, there is a rapid decomposition, so spraying is carried out at dusk.
  • Low temperature and high humidity reduce the effect. Needed at least 20 aboutC. If the processing is in a closed ground (for example, cucumbers, strawberries or flowers), heating to 25, and better - 32-35 aboutFROM.
  • The pesticide must get on the body and inside the pest. Therefore, continuous wetting of surfaces is important so that no one escapes from damage.
  • Spraying is carried out with a spray bottle. And for indoor plants - for example, to treat an orchid with Fitoverm - you can use a sponge with a working fluid, not forgetting to wipe the flower pots, as well as nearby surfaces.

Not all stages of pest development feed on the leaf, so repeated treatments are needed:

  • for indoor crops and flowers in open ground - 4 treatments;
  • for potatoes, pears, indoor flowers (for example, when fighting aphids or thrips on roses) - 3 treatments;
  • for greenhouse vegetables affected by spider mites - 2 treatments; when other pests appear - 3 treatments;
  • for cabbage - 2 treatments and the same - for fruit shrubs, sea buckthorn and in the fight against most pests on an apple tree;
  • for the destruction of the codling moth - one treatment.

You should choose a processing time outside of flowering so as not to harm the bees.

Security measures

All avermectins are biologically active and cannot be considered completely safe for humans. And although poisoning is unlikely, you need to take precautions:

  • store Fitoverm in a closed container and separately from food;
  • when diluting drugs, do not use utensils for food and water;
  • use protective equipment;
  • the remains and containers should be cleaned with slaked lime gruel or a weak alkali solution.

Prevention of possible errors

For safety, it is important to use proven products:

  • Fitoverm is patented in Russia. You should be on your guard if the seller does not refer to the only manufacturer - LLC NBC “Farmbiomed”. Perhaps this is a fake.
  • It is necessary to beware of selling firms that are not allowed to sell the drug. In addition, intermediaries "wind up" the price.
  • It is necessary to remember which of the pesticides are approved for use in the personal household, and choose the correct application rates.

Currently, the Russian "Fitoverm" is considered the safest insecticide and the only acaricide capable of defeating spider mites on indoor flowers. And everyone who is engaged in plant cultivation should know about the possibilities of such preparations.
