Grid idea
The net is a light, beautiful and reliable support for a peony. You can use any rigid net for tying, but to make the bush look beautiful, you should choose a green product. In this case, the grid will not draw attention from the flowering buds to itself. The recommended mesh size is 5 to 10 cm in diameter.
There are 2 options for using the mesh:
- Growing peonies on a grid. Even at the stage of emergence of sprouts, you need to put a net on the flower bed, securing it from 4 sides to support sticks. These can be wooden, metal pegs, supports made of green plastic construction reinforcement. The latter option is preferable - it is inexpensive, aesthetic, almost eternal. As they grow, the stems will take up cells. It will be necessary to raise the level of the grid every 2-3 weeks. It is not required to specially fix it. It is held in place by tension. Yes, and the leaves of the peony do not allow her to slip.
- Fence. In the second version, the bush is surrounded by a net. It is necessary to cut a strip 30-40 cm wide of the corresponding length and, wrapping the peonies, fasten the edges with copper wire.

If there is a man in the house who knows how to work with a welding machine, you can make a decorative fence for a peony. You will need metal rods with a diameter of 6 mm and a total length of 5 m.
Working process:
- Divide the rods into 6 parts: 4 legs of 75 cm and 2 pieces of 1 m for frames.

- Bend and weld square or round frames.

Twine or elastic cambric (PVC tube) is suitable for tying.
It is better to carry out the work in advance, when the bush is still small:
- Tie a rope to the first trunk. To prevent it from slipping, the knot should be above the leaf axil.
- Braid the bush and secure the rope to the trunk of the peony on the opposite side of the flower bed. Wrap the stem 2 times.
- Secure the thread at 4 points of the flower bed, tie a knot.
- Cut the thread, leaving a long end.
- Pass it diagonally across the bush and secure.
- Make the second diagonal perpendicular to the first. Inside the bush, you get a criss-cross weaving, which will not allow the center of gravity to shift.
