What is attractive for growing the cucumber Zyatek F1

Content

Cucumbers with the interesting name Zyatek are interesting for vegetable growers with high yields and resistance to diseases. This variety belongs to hybrids (therefore it is marked with F1) and it will not work to propagate it by seeds at home. The next generation will not bear fruit.

Characteristics of the variety

The Zyatek F1 variety was bred in Moscow (by the Gavrish company) and has a lot of advantages: stable and high yields, mild taste without bitterness, resistance to adverse conditions. The fruits ripen, no matter what kind of summer it is: cold or hot, with a lot of precipitation, or vice versa - dry.

Hybrid cucumbers Zyatek

According to the ripening rate, Zyatek belongs to the early ripening varieties, which is convenient for growing in different climatic zones. Cucumbers are ready for harvest 45-48 days after planting, and up to 7 kg of fruits are poured on each bush. You can eat cucumbers immediately after picking, "straight from the garden."

Description of fruits:

  • color - dark green, with light streaks, on the skin - white tubercles and small thorns;
  • dimensions - small, up to 11 cm in length, on average 4 cm in diameter, the whole crop ripens in the same size;
  • weight - about 100 g, which allows you to grow the variety Zyatek for conservation.

Bush characteristic and benefits:

  1. It develops calmly both in the greenhouse and under the sky.
  2. With proper care, the bush gives up to 50 ovaries, and in each - from 3 to 8 bunches.
  3. The variety belongs to hybrid, parthenocarpic, and the yield does not depend on pollination, which is important for successful cultivation in greenhouse conditions.
  4. The variety has built-in resistance to powdery mildew, cladosporium and cucumber mosaic virus. If it was not possible to protect planting from diseases, they respond well to treatment and recover rather quickly.
  5. Fruits are poured from June to early October.

Advice
Even if the Zyatek cucumbers are collected at the small stage, they are in no way inferior to gherkins in conservation.

The variety has one drawback: since it is parthenocarpic, the seed will need to be constantly re-purchased every season. Seeds harvested from their own plantings will produce fruitless plants.

How to care for cucumbers

One of the advantages of the Zyatek variety is that it does not have to be grown in seedlings, but it is preferable in northern latitudes. Roughly the seeds are buried in temporary containers in mid-late April. In cold regions or late spring, it is better to shift the dates to early May.

Cucumber sprouts

Nate is unpretentious and forgives mistakes in care, however, in order to get the maximum yield, you should carefully follow the requirements of agricultural technology.

Zyatka can be planted in open ground as soon as the threat of return frosts has passed. The temperature should not drop below + 12 ° С, otherwise the seeds will not germinate at all.

Advice
In order not to injure the delicate roots, when moving the seedlings into the ground, plant the seeds in peat cups. In the ground, they will simply decompose and become fertilizer.

Sandy loam soils with a moderate amount of fertilizers are suitable for the Zyatyok variety. Phosphorus and potash fertilizers are applied during the flowering period and a week before it, and during the growing season, organic fertilizers are more suitable (for example, a solution of mullein or bird droppings). For successful cultivation, loosening is imperative to provide air access to the roots.

Cucumber seedlings

The air and soil temperature has a direct impact on the rate of seed germination. At temperatures from +25 and above, the speed of seed germination will be as fast as possible - from 3 to 5 days. In the coolness, seedlings appear only after 10-12 days.

Cucumbers Zyatek love discharged plantings, so there should be at least 50 cm between the holes, and ideally - 1 hole will fall on 1 sq. m.The optimum seed depth is 2 cm.

Advice
For very early plantings, it is recommended to cover the cucumbers from frost.

It should be borne in mind that Zyatek cucumbers need to tie on trellises with nets or ropes so that the stems do not break off under the weight of ripe fruits. The cucumbers themselves will find support and catch on with antennae. Although Zyatek is a medium-sized species, it does not stop growing throughout the growing season. Unlimited stem growth allows you to get the most out of your greenhouse environment.

Growing cucumbers in a greenhouse

The variety is hygrophilous, like all cucumbers, but it is important to ensure that the water does not stagnate in the holes, otherwise the roots will rot and the plants will quickly die. The son-in-law responds well to drip irrigation. In any case, the water should be directed under the bush without affecting the leaves and stems.

For the first watering, it is better to use warm water for the first 3 days (slightly warmer than room water).

The most common mistakes are waterlogging and excessive feeding. In fact, plants can only absorb a certain amount of fertilizers, and their excess will have a depressing effect. Experienced vegetable growers recommend using not dry fertilizers, but a solution of rotted manure.

The cultivation of the Zyatek variety does not present any difficulties. The biggest drawback is the need to acquire new seeds every season. The variety responds to care with a good and friendly harvest, pleases with tasty neat fruits.
