Features of the fungicide "Acrobat MC", the purpose and correct dosage of the drug

Content

One of the most effective means of protecting plants from damage by dangerous fungi is the fungicide "Acrobat MC". It is used both for the treatment and for the prevention of late blight, peronosporosis and other dangerous diseases.

Fungicide Acrobat-MC

Composition and purpose of the drug

This fungicide contains 2 active ingredients:

  • dimethomorph,
  • mancozeb.

It is produced in the form of water-dispersible granules (abbreviated as WDG), which dissolve quite well in water.

The tool is used for the prevention and treatment of such fungal diseases:

  • late blight;
  • peronosporosis;
  • alternaria;
  • mildew.

The characteristic symptoms of these diseases are described in the table:

DiseaseExternal signs
Late blightLeaves develop grayish-brown spots that are often coated or surrounded by a white ring of mildew
PeronosporosisYellowish spots appear on the leaves, and soon the foliage begins to weaken and fall off. The ovaries of the plant also turn yellow - because of the defeat, they do not give fruit.
AlternariaBrownish spots appear on the leaves, they become dry, the foliage turns yellow and falls off. In this case, the fruits are formed, but they lose their natural taste.
MildewSpots of yellow or light green color appear on the leaves and shoots of grapes, the berries and inflorescences darken and quickly die off.

However, the use of the drug is justified not only in cases where certain signs of fungal infection have appeared. Processing must be carried out during active growth in order to prevent the development of the disease.

Advantages of the fungicide Acrobat MC

Benefits of a fungicide

Reviews of gardeners and analysis of the composition of the drug show that this is a fairly effective tool that has several advantages:

  • Due to the presence of two active substances, the fungicide has a complex effect on the plant. Dimethomorph penetrates the tissue and, as a result, protects the entire plant, even its untreated parts. Mancozeb enhances the effects of dimethomorph, thereby increasing the plant's resistance.
  • The product is not toxic to earthworms, beneficial bacteria that live in the soil, as well as to the plants themselves.
  • The drug is practically non-toxic to humans. If you follow the precautions and do not allow it to get into the eyes, on the skin or inside, no harmful effects will occur.
  • The tool is used quite economically - for processing 1 hundred parts, 1 or 2 packages of 20 g each are enough.
  • The drug can be used in combination with other agents.
  • "Acrobat MC" is safe for fish, so processing can be done near water bodies.

Instructions for use and doses

The drug is available in powder form, which is sold in sachets of 20 g.

Instructions for using the product are quite simple:

  1. Pour 5 liters of water into the bucket.
  2. Open the bag and pour out all its contents (20 g of powder).
  3. To stir thoroughly.
  4. Pour into a spray bottle and spray the plants.

All work is best carried out in clear weather in complete calm or in light wind.

In general cases, processing is carried out 2 times during the growing season:

  1. First, the plant is treated in the first weeks of active growth, regardless of whether symptoms of fungal infections are found or not. This measure serves as a good way to prevent possible fungal infection of plants.
  2. Secondary processing is carried out after 2 weeks.

In the future, it is necessary to spray the fungicide only if necessary, that is, when the corresponding symptoms appear.

However, the frequency of treatment, as well as a specific dosage, is determined depending on the culture. For example, for grapes, 3 treatments are enough, and for cucumbers - 5.

CultureSolution consumption (liters per 1 hundred square meters)Number of treatments
potatoes and tomatoes43
cucumbers6-85
wine grape103

If the plants have been affected by late blight or other fungal diseases, the first results will become noticeable after a few days or weeks. The specific period depends on the culture, as well as on the way it grows, for example:

  • tomatoes in greenhouses - fungi will begin to die in 4-5 days;
  • potatoes - tangible results will appear after 3 weeks;
  • onions - after 1 month;
  • tomatoes in the open field - after 1.5 months.

It is important to understand that the spraying regime must be calculated in advance so that the last treatment takes place a maximum of 25-30 days before the expected harvest. There is one exception to this rule: when spraying the fungicide "Acrobat" on sugar beets, the last treatment must take place no later than 50 days.

Safety measures and storage conditions

Preparations that destroy fungi or insects have a certain degree of danger to humans, as well as to plants and animals. For example, the fungicide "Acrobat" belongs to the 2nd hazard class. This means it does not harm the beneficial insects and bacteria that live in the soil. According to its effect on bees, the agent is classified as hazard class 3.

You need to work with the drug carefully enough, observing safety measures:

  • Be sure to wear gloves.
  • It is also advisable to put on glasses and a special gown, which then wash or throw away (disposable surgical).
  • If the solution with the drug gets on the skin, the treatment must be interrupted and immediately washed off with running water.
  • If the drug gets into the eyes, they should also be rinsed with water.
  • If it accidentally gets inside (if swallowed), take 1-2 tablets of activated charcoal and wash it down with water.
  • If the described measures did not help and there was a deterioration in health, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Since this fungicide does not have its own antidote, it is necessary to carefully monitor where the drops of solution fall.

  • A bucket and other utensils that have come into contact with liquid must be thoroughly rinsed after processing.
  • During spraying, make sure that there are no children and animals on the site.
  • After the procedure, it is better to get rid of gloves and wash the robe thoroughly.
  • Hands and face should be washed with water, and the empty fungicide packaging should be packed in a bag and thrown away or burned.

The drug can be stored for up to 2 years in normal room conditions (moderate humidity and temperatures up to +35aboutC, no direct sunlight). It is possible to store the fungicide with other similar agents, insecticides, etc. However, it must be separated from medicines, and even more so from food, during storage to exclude the access of children and pets.

A review of the composition and purpose of the drug shows that the tool is really quite effective and helps to cope with various fungal infections of cultivated plants. In addition, the fungicide "Acrobat" is relatively safe: if you use it in strict accordance with the instructions, there are practically no risks to human and animal health.
